Professional Development Programs and InformationProfessional development opportunities are offered through the University of Oregon Substance Abuse Prevention Program. Specific topics of instruction and availability are frequently updated to meet the changing needs and interests of those in the helping professions. Seminars, trainings, and conferences offer variable contact hours. Each participant receives a certificate that verifies their participation and the number of hours earned.The Substance Abuse Prevention Program is recognized as an approved academic education provider through NAADAC. (The Association for Addiction Professionals) And, SAPP CEU's are accepted by ACCBO (Addiction Counselor Certification Board of Oregon) toward recertification requirements. Seminars The SAPP seminars are offered throughout the calendar year. Actual hours are variable. _____________________________________________________________________Trainings Trainings are provided on a regular basis to individual agencies, businesses, and groups. Specific topics cover a broad range of interests and are designed to meet the ever-changing needs of helping professionals and the communities at large.Conferences The SAPP conferences typically draw larger numbers of attendees and are offered several times per year. The multiple-day offering topics attract addiction and mental health professionals from throughout Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. Psychologists, social workers, and educators will find information relevant and applicable in the private practice sector. CEU's are available.
