Julie Hynes was born and raised in southern California. She and her husband moved to Eugene in 2002, when she began working in the newly created Lane County Problem Gambling Prevention Program. In the past 10 years the program has gained wide recognition for its innovation and adherence to evidence-based prevention practice. Hynes serves on the National Council on Problem Gambling Prevention Committee and is regularly tapped for technical support and presentations locally and nationally.
Hynes also designs and manages prevention program websites and affiliated social media, which include Prevention Lane and the Oregon Problem Gambling Services' prevention website.
Her hobbies include taekwondo, watching and playing football, and hanging out with her husband and two kids.
