Rick Siel brings to the classroom 38 years experience with the Eugene Police Department, 19 of those years in drug enforcement and five years in SWAT work. He has taught drug related courses at the UO since 1994. Prior to that he taught drug and narcotics courses for 10 years at Lane Community College, and for eight years taught drug related topics to law enforcement professionals.
In 1987, while working with other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, he was instrumental in the creation of the Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team (INET). Through his leadership, INET became one of the most successful interagency law enforcement efforts in Oregon, receiving recognition at the state and federal levels. That legacy continues today.
