This course will cover a brief overview of topics such as: GLBTQUI terminology, substance use, marginalization, mental health issues, and risk reduction. This course will discuss the most common mental health and substance use trends and interventions within the GLBTQUI population as well as discuss how marginalization, discrimination and society disapproval has contributed to these facts. This course will also briefly look at how family acceptance or rejection also contributes to the issues at hand.
