In this course, students will engage in an overview of the topic of alcohol and other drugs and how they affect the developing fetus and the pregnant mother. Specific areas of discussion will include:

  • Motherhood and society's view of mothers
  • Physical effects of substances on the developing fetus
  • Options for pregnant women who are using substances
  • Options for children affected by in-utero exposure to substances
  • Prevention of alcohol related birth disorders

    Please note: This is a "self-support" course. This self-support fee listed above replaces the cost of regular tuition and is paid regardless of student residency status or total course load.
