The intent of this course is to provide the student with theoretical frameworks, research and the practical application of science-based substance abuse prevention strategies. Covered topics include: prevention theories, models, and approaches, risk and protective factor model, developmental assets, resiliency and strategic prevention framework, community readiness and collaboration, prevention ethics, media and prevention, logic models, and prevention specialists.
