Students will be exposed to a wide range of treatment perspectives in relation to substance use within various cultural / racial / ethnic populations. Students will be exposed to real-life applications of these perspectives, and learn to develop and utilize relative assessment tools. Through individual examination and group interactions, students will learn how to develop cultural assessments.

Covered topics include: multiculturalism, individualism and self-awareness, the culture of race and ethnicity, personal and societal bias, culturally competent treatment, relief and belief systems, sexual orientation, culture presumptions, and cultures in transition.

Please note: This is a "self-support" course. This self-support fee listed above replaces the cost of regular tuition and is paid regardless of student residency status or total course load.
