Students will learn and apply knowledge about the two most prevalent drugs of use and abuse in college and university campus environments nationwide: Alcohol and marijuana. In addition to receiving a comprehensive history of each drug and its use in the United States, students will study the following elements as they apply to alcohol and marijuana:

  • Epidemiology (patterns of use)
  • Pharmacology (drug action)
  • Acute and chronic effects
  • Legality and regulation
  • Individual and societal risks
  • Emerging trends of use and abuse

Please note: This is a "self-support" course. This self-support fee listed above replaces the cost of regular tuition and is paid regardless of student residency status or total course load.
