This course is a continuation of Alternative Methods in AOD Treatment. We will focus on more in-depth explorations of music therapy, guided imagery, meditation, laughter and humor therapy, and color healing/therapy as effective means for addressing the mental, spiritual and physiological health and well-being of individuals engaged in the process of recovery from drug addiction and associated stressors.
Complementary Approaches will emphasize more of the practical applications of these theories and practices as students will deepen their abilities to integrate these methods into their daily practice. In-class demonstrations and group-work will allow participants to gain hands-on experience of these approaches to drug treatment in contemporary society.
While this course is open to all students, you are encouraged to enroll only if you already have an academic background in alternative forms of drug treatment.
Please note: This is a "self-support" course. This self-support fee listed above replaces the cost of regular tuition and is paid regardless of student residency status or total course load.
